Master of Divinity (M. Div)
The M. Div program is a three-year program for which 90 credits are required for graduation. All 90 credits are to be obtained through course work. Students are also required to enroll in intensive Biblical language classes (both Greek and Hebrew), offered during summer and winter vacation, and to pass those examinations. This is a graduate professional degree, which serves to prepare students to serve as pastors, teachers, evangelists, missionaries and chaplains.
ALU’s M. Div program challenges students to look anew at Christian tradition, and reflect upon its contemporary significance. The focus of Biblical studies, theology, spiritual worship, church history, and pastoral leadership provide the grounding for dynamic ministry. Educating the mind, heart, and spirit, it provides a common core of intellectual and practical learning that readies students for a vocation of faith.
